Outdated PLC-based burner management system was fraught with failures
G.R. Bowler's Scope of supply:
- Quadlog APACS pulverized coal burner management system
- Yearly systems plant maintenance program
- Expansion of combustion control systems
- Integration of Oxygen Enrichment program with Praxair, Inc.
System Update:
2003: After meeting all
project requirements, G.R. Bowler continues to upgrade the Mt. Tom
system as required to keep up with operational changes.
Spring 2006 – Instrumental
in adding a new APACS controller and I/O system to facilitate the
installation and control of the new, Riley Power, SCR system. All
operator interface to the new system is via the HMI. All control
logic is incorporated in the APACS system. This was Riley’s first
APACS experience and the feedback has been very positive.
